Brandon Jennings/Favorite Childhood Foods

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on)topic: Brandon Jennings

Yes, we’re going there. After our third straight loss last night, the Bucks’ fandom has grown increasingly uneasy. The euphoria of the post-Kidd era seems to have faded for most. The team is struggling with offense, defense, and rebounding — and fans are looking for solutions to the problem. Last night in particular, I noticed a surge in “sign Brandon Jennings” tweets. So let’s take a look at (the very small sample size of) how he’s done with the Wisconsin Herd so far.

First Game, Herd vs Mad Ants: 31 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal (in 36 minutes)
Second Game, Herd vs Nets: 29 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal (in 39 minutes)
Third Game, Herd vs Raptors: 29 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals (in 35 minutes)

That brings his total average to: 29.6 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 6.6 assists per game, in an average of 36.6 minutes played per game. He’s shooting 41% from the field and 39% from three. Oh, he’s also averaging 5.6 turnovers per game.

So, what do you think?

I’d love to hear whether or not you think we should cut someone from our current roster to sign Jennings. If you think we should cut someone, who do you think it should be? If you think this is a terrible idea, tell us why.

Tonight’s (off)topic: Favorite Childhood Foods (and Drinks)

Recently, I’ve found myself enjoying snack foods and drinks that bring me back to much simpler times: childhood. Exhibit A:

I picked up some Kool-Aid Bursts at the grocery store the other day, along with some other childhood favorites. Among the iconic drinks, I bought Bagel Bites, Entenmann’s Little Bites Chocolate Chip Muffins, Scooby-Doo fruit snacks, and Gushers (I am obviously very health conscious with a well-rounded diet). I have at least one specific childhood memory that I can vividly remember that is associated with each of these foods. For example, I used to sneak Little Bites muffins in my duffel bag and eat them before away games on my travel basketball team in grade school. So, I ask you: what were some of your favorite childhood foods or drinks? When’s the last time you ate or drank them? And finally, are there any specific memories you can think of that involve those food or drinks?

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
