Brew Hoop Night Shift: March 13th, 2018

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on)topic: Old friends

Brandon Jennings is back, and everybody (read: just me) is losing their minds about it. Former Bucks beat writer Charles Gardner came up during the post-game yesterday, and apparently is remembered as fondly by the players as he is by the fans. Not only that, it appears that Brandon’s admiration was mutual!

Tonight’s (off)topic: NFL free agency

In the NBA, July is one of the hottest months for news, thanks to the players that change teams to sign shiny new contracts that they nearly always struggle to live up to. We’re right in the middle of that period for America’s other big-name sport: football. I’m not sure of the ins-and-outs of the NFL’s free agency rules or practices, and I actually had to look up whether or not Ted Thompson is still the Green Bay Packers’ general manager (he isn’t). Fortunately, SB Nation’s Packer affiliate Acme Packing Company has you covered, and is in good hands with managing editor Tex Western, who happens to be a high school classmate of mine. Small world!

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
