Bucks’ Magic Number/Stools With or Without the Back

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic: Bucks’ Magic Number

I cannot remember a more apathetic feeling knowing a team I support is a handful of games away from clinching a playoff birth. Ho-hum feeling aside, let’s try and predict when the Bucks will clinch their playoff spot.

Here’s Milwaukee’s final 10 games and what I think the results will be:

So a 5-5 finish to the season is less than ideal, but the Bucks have a six game lead on the Detroit Pistons so it will be enough to get the job done. Speaking of which let’s take a gander at Detroit’s final 10 games along with what I think will be the results of those games:

So a 7-3 finish to the season will see the Pistons finish four games behind the Bucks for that eighth spot. The clinching game should come around after Detroit loses to Philadelphia. So the last few games for the Bucks should be for resting the guys who have been battling nagging injuries and playing so many minutes this season. Of course, it will probably come down to the game or two of the season before the Bucks clinch.

Tonight’s (off) topic: Stools With or Without the Back

Ah, the bar stool. A classic furniture piece for every bar counter and fun uncle’s basement. The most common iteration of the bar stool is one that does not have a back to lean against, but is that the best version of the bar stool? The answer, for me, is no. I usually end up hunched forward when sitting on stool with no back. I like to lean! Give me the stool that has a back rest every time!

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
