Brew Hoop Night Shift: March 8th, 2018

Thon Maker/Living Downtown

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on)topic: Thon Maker’s DNP-CD

Something that seemed to have gotten little to no attention in last night’s loss was Thon Maker’s DNP - Coach’s Decision. Part of me wonders if it’s because he has had so little impact on the games lately, that maybe people didn’t even realize that he wasn’t in the game. Personally, I didn’t notice until I saw this tweet from Justin Garcia:

I saw Thon’s DNP-CD as a pretty blatant message from Prunty – he was benched because he hasn’t been playing well. The discussion I want to have goes beyond the benching, to a broader discussion on how you think Maker’s performance has been so far this season. Have you seen more progression or regression from him? Do you believe in his talent, or are you doubting whether he has what it takes?

Tonight’s (off)topic: Living Downtown

Having just renewed my lease yesterday, I have guaranteed a front row seat to the new arena being completed. These two pictures were taken outside my complex:

The arena isn’t the only thing being built right by my complex; two more apartment buildings are currently being built. Out of curiosity, how many of you live in the downtown area? If you don’t, would you ever consider moving here? It would be cool if some of us turned out to be neighbors and didn’t even know it. I can’t help but think these new apartment buildings — that are a two to five minute walk to the new arena — could be a hot spot for Bucks’ fans. A girl can dream!

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
