Wednesday’s Outcomes/Favorite Sharpie Smell

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic: Wednesday’s Outcomes

The Milwaukee Bucks have a pretty simple road map to the sixth seed, win and it’s theirs. Both the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards have faltered of late going 5-5 and 2-8 in their last 10 games respectively which has allowed the Bucks to sneak into the sixth slot. If Milwaukee were to win Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Bucks would face the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A loss in Philadelphia opens the door for a potential likely postseason match-up against the Boston Celtics, a maybe match-up against the 76ers, and a one-in-six shot of facing the Toronto Raptors again.

Personally, I am very okay with all of these scenarios, except for the one that leads to the Bucks playing the Raptors. A match-up against Cleveland would be a great test for Giannis Antetokounmpo going against LeBron James and to continue stoking the rivalry flames between the two teams. That marquee match-up would also get a lot of national publicity which is (usually) always a good thing.

Meeting with the depleted Celtics could be in the Bucks’ favor if last week’s game against them was any indicator. Brad Stevens terrifies me and of course you can never trust the Bucks, so it just feels like a trap to me, but I would be bullish on the Bucks chances against the Celtics as they currently are.

The outcome I want the most is a date with Philly in the first round. They are fun to cheer against, annoying as hell, and it could lead to the first of many post-season encounters between the two squads in the coming years.

Which outcome are y’all itching for?

Tonight’s (off) topic: Favorite Sharpie Smell

It’s become a habit for me to open up a sharpie and smell it whenever I can get my hands on one. The sharpie on my desk at work is green, but odorless and non-toxic, so really what kind of fun is that? The sharpie that everyone wanted use, and therefore get to exclusively smell, in school was the purple sharpie. Yankee Candle should make a candle based off of that grape smell alone. Which sharpie “flavor” do you get excited to smell whenever you see it?

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
