Khris Middleton may be discussed as potentially underrated by the national media and overrated by a specific populous of Bucks Twitter, but he made enough of an impression this season to be named to the initial Team USA roster. This is Middleton’s first time selected for the honor.
This initial casting call goes out to 35 players who train together at a minicamp in Vegas this summer. From there, the roster will eventually be trimmed down to only 12 players for when real competition begins. While Middleton selected for this initial group means little on its face, it does give him practice time against the country’s best under the tutelage of new Team USA coach, Gregg Popovich.
Hopefully, whoever is ultimately hired as the new Bucks coach this summer prods Pop to convince Khris it might be advantageous to sling more from beyond the arc. Props to Khris for working his way back from last season’s difficult injury to reach this level of play though.
