Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on) topic: Lottery Results
With all the hoopla surrounding the hiring of Mike Budenholzer, we raced past the NBA Draft Lottery which took place this past Tuesday night. The lottery is usually rife with conspiracy and league executive meddling, but this year’s edition was, thankfully, devoid of that.
The Phoenix Suns had the best odds and wound up with the number one pick.
The Sacramento Kings had lady luck smile on them and moved up five spots to the second pick. I wonder how they’ll screw it up?
The Atlanta Hawks squeaked into the third pick by moving up one spot, which forced out the Memphis Grizzlies and the Dallas Mavericks. Those two teams were expected to pick second and third respectively.
No Cleveland Cavaliers, no Boston Celtics, and no Philadelphia 76ers being given a top-3 pick for the first time in what feels like a decade.
So who you taking number one? Luka Doncic? DeAndre Ayton?
Tonight’s (off) topic:
Speaking of the draft, here is a great alma mater quiz. I managed a 29/40 on this one.
