Brew Hoop Night Shift: May 2nd, 2018

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic: Coaching Candidates

Today’s Locked on Bucks kicked off a three part series on the potential coaches that could helm the Bucks heading into the 2018/19 season. Today’s episode was focused heavily on leading candidate, Mike Budenholzer, as well as primed everyone’s appetite for the assistant coaches that will be discussed over the next two days.

One of the best aspects of LoB doing this is that there will be a living, breathing Google Doc that anyone and everyone can contribute to if they feel strongly about a particular candidate or feel that an aspiring candidate or two were left off.

Hopefully this fun collaboration project can take some stress away from knowing that this coaching hire is probably the most important hire in Bucks history. Hopefully.

Tonight’s (off) topic: Roller Coaster Horror Stories

A roller coaster at Japan’s Universal Studios had a safety sensor trigger prematurely which stopped the ride and left the 60 or so passengers upside down for two hours.

Two hours!

I had a wild stretch where I got stuck on roller coasters three times over the course of five years and three individual park visits. All three occurred at Six Flags Great America. Luckily, none of them happened while I was upside down and it never happened while I was on the Raging Bull. The first one I got stuck on was the Whizzer right at the top (granted it’s not a particularly tall coaster), the second happened on a school field trip on the Demon right as it started its ascent to the top, so nothing crazy, and then the final time happened on the, then, brand new X-Flight coaster and that happened almost at the very top, but any nerves were alleviated by me being able to swing my legs and shake some nervous energy out.

Any one here ever been stuck on a roller coaster?
