2018 NBA Draft - Brew Hoop Community Draft Board Kicks Off

It’s draft season folks, time to start our annual ranking of prospects

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks-Press Conference Milwaukee Journal Sentinel-USA TODAY Sports

It’s that time again folks. The time to overly scrutinize young men whose games we’ve only briefly glimpsed in half-full high school gyms, on college courts or in bootleg footage from overseas competition. Every year Brew Hoop relies on its esteemed community to help us count up from pick number one to wherever the Bucks happen to lie in the draft. In this case, just as it was last year, that means we’ll be going up to pick #17. In 2017, the community’s choice for that coveted slot was Harry Giles.

Envision this exercise as a chance to peer through Jon Horst’s eyes for a time. Imagine yourself as the Bucks GM. If you had the number one pick, who would be your target. If it’s the number two pick, who are you targeting, and so on and so forth. The hope will be to get a relatively accurate account of the community’s draft board. We’ll keep track of the rankings as we go along.

In year’s past we would always link to the current player’s profile on DraftExpress (RIP), so we’re going to opt for The Stepien profiles instead. I think we’re all in the same boat of searching for a viable alternative to the treasure trove that was DraftExpress, so if you have other draft sites you find reputable beyond The Ringer or maybe NBADraft.net, let us know in the comments below.

With the NBA Draft entry deadline hitting yesterday (check out Eric and Frank’s early draft takes on the Locked on Bucks pod), now is the optimum time to kick off these rankings. As we hear about different players potentially working out with Milwaukee, we’ll try to fit those tidbits into these pieces too.

Without further ado, let’s kick these rankings off. Who ya got at the hotly debated number one spot?
