After news from Adrian Wojnarowski broke yesterday that the Milwaukee Bucks were going to interview five former head coaches for the open position, it appears the interview process is beginning in earnest. One of those five names, David Fizdale, was knocked off the chess board after the New York Knicks hired him yesterday.
This morning, Woj followed up the news stating that Milwaukee will interview the previously mentioned Clifford and Williams but also added San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina, the first non-former NBA head coach to be mentioned.
The Milwaukee Bucks will interview San Antonio assistant Ettore Messina, former Charlotte coach Steve Clifford and former New Orleans coach Monty Williams in next several days, league sources tell ESPN. Bucks may meet with as many as 10 candidates in first round of interviews.

The info of the Bucks interviewing as many as 10 candidates is intriguing and hints at the presumption that there may be many names tossed around. It is noteworthy that Budenholzer wasn’t mentioned, which might indicate there isn’t a scheduled date as of now. The Bucks search is going to be under a giant microscope after the botched GM search last summer and the musical chairs situation of the Governorship position shifting among Milwaukee’s owners. Yesterday on ESPN’s The Jump, Brian Windhorst said Milwaukee’s vacancy might not be as attractive like many people stated.
Interesting stuff from @WindhorstESPN and @Rachel__Nichols on The Jump today about the changing of the Bucks' Board of Governors seat next year and how it may affect the head coaching position.
