Brew Hoop Night Shift: June 18th, 2018

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic:

Barring a trade, the only way the Milwaukee Bucks will be able to select in the second round of Thursday night’s draft is to purchase the rights to a second round player, and now we have confirmation that the Bucks do have some cold hard cash burning a hole in their pocket. Considering their recent string of good luck with second round picks, I would suspect that the Bucks powers that be try to acquire a second rounder.

Exactly where in the second round could $3.3 million land them? The Golden State Warriors paid the Chicago Bulls $3.5 million for the eighth pick in the second round last year. If the Bucks do purchase a second round pick, my guess would be to look for it around the 40th overall slot.

Tonight’s (off) topic:

The U.S. Open took place this weekend in Long Island and Brooks Koepka claimed his second straight U.S. Open trophy. Of the four majors in golf, the U.S. Open is the one I pay the least amount of attention to. The Masters and the PGA Championship get a dedicated Sunday viewing from me, but the British Open is where I tune in all weekend. The early morning broadcast is perfect to slowly wake up to on a summer weekend morning.

Do we have any big time golf fans in the house?
