Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on) topic: Jason Kidd Interviews for Detroit Pistons’ Gig
Jason Kidd is interviewing with the #Pistons today for the organization’s head coaching job, per source. Kidd arrived in Detroit last night.— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) June 2, 2018
At least the Detroit Pistons are making everyone else feel good about their head coaching hires/interviews. I get that Stan van Gundy’s time had come with the franchise, but yeeeesh, could you imagine if they downgraded from SVG to Kidd? If Kidd does get hired, here is who Blake Griffin will have played for: Mike Dunleavy, Vinny Del Negro, Doc Rivers, Stan van Gundy, and Jason Kidd. Poor fella, at least he is funny. Hopefully he can find some humor in Kidd’s late game huddles when this strategy gets suggested:
Unpopular Opinion: It was actually a smart play by JR.— Jason Kidd (@NotJasonKidd5) June 1, 2018
Understanding the game is tied, you definitely don’t make the second free throw and give them a chance to win in regulation. So you miss the free throw and get the rebound to dribble it out for OT. Amazing basketball.
Tonight’s (off) topic: Car Wash Preference
For the first time since buying my new (used) car, I took it for a car wash. It was littered with bug corpses it collected on the round trip from Milwaukee to Iowa City over Memorial Day weekend. I have never been one to go with the hand wash/DIY car washes and prefer the touch-less out of sheer laziness. I feel like whenever (or if) I own a home I will just do a driveway car wash and get into it that way. Any hand car washers out there?
As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
