Brew Hoop Night Shift: June 27th, 2018

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic:

The Australian National Basketball League, will be squaring off with NBA teams for a second consecutive pre-season. With the Bucks having Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker it is surprising they have not been included in either version of the cross-league scheduling.

It is even more surprising given the fact that former Buck, Andrew Bogut, signed with the Kings after retiring from the NBA this past spring. They couldn’t schedule a Bucks/Kings exhibition at the new arena for some Bogut nostalgia? C’mon.

Tonight’s (off) topic:

Summerfest is officially underway here in Milwaukee and this year will be the 51st iteration of “The Big Ragu Gig.”

Thursday night’s half-off beverages is a heck of a way to celebrate a thirsty Thursday, even if that does mean drinks will be $5 instead of $10.

July 3rd’s promotion of anyone over the age 60 getting in for free will feature a few suspiciously tall and uncoordinated humans wearing trench coats. On second thought, those just may be kids standing on each other’s shoulders.

Free admission will also make its presence known on July 4th - all you have to do is download the Summerfest app which will let Summerfest sell your data probably.

Anyone hitting up Summerfest this year? Who ya seeing?

I will most likely not be in attendance as I will be out of state for about 13 of the Summerfest schedule and then I will be spending the remaining time holed up in my apartment avoiding the excess traffic and avoiding the unaware pedestrians that will be prominent in the Third Ward more so than usual. I’ll pop back out when German Fest comes around.
