Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on) topic: Retire Marques Johnson’s Number, Dammit
D'Amato: It's time for the Bucks to retire Marques Johnson's jersey number https://t.co/z4wrY0uED8 pic.twitter.com/UD1nAyLQyk

The Milwaukee Bucks have eight numbers hanging in the rafters, but none of them were on the back of Marques Johnson who was the face of the Bucks in the early 1980s before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
For those that were born in the post-Marques Johnson era, he is most closely associated with his work as the color commentator on Fox Sports Wisconsin alongside Jim Paschke, and sometimes Gus Johnson. Johnson also had a fantastic cameo in White Men Can’t Jump which led to two memorable moments (I would link to the two scenes, but they are pretty explicit). The Bucks should have retired his number the second that movie hit theaters, in my opinion.
Fret not though, Johnson himself has hinted that his name will be among other Bucks legends soon enough:
“I get a sense that it’s coming,” Johnson said of a jersey retirement. “Just trust me on that.”
Tonight’s (off) topic:
Tough, tough quiz about the state of retired jerseys from across the NBA. I could only get a paltry 13/30 correct.
