Fiserv Forum: New Home of the Milwaukee Bucks

The Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Complex has a naming sponsor!

First, it was Fiserv. Then it wasn’t. Now...it is Fiserv! The Milwaukee Bucks new arena finally has a name: Fiserv Forum!

I personally didn’t put much stock into the name of the Bucks’ new arena, but I’m sure that ownership is very interested in signing a 25-year agreement that is worth many, many dollars (financial terms of the contract were not announced).

The Fiserv Forum opens on Sunday, August 26th, and will open for Bucks basketball in the fall (y’know, when the NBA season starts). Until then, we get to figure out a nickname. The Forum sounds great, but I can’t recall if any other arenas have that name? And what other references can we make? The forum is a part of ancient Roman history (not Greek, which is obviously unfortunate). I did an eighth grade school project on A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, back in the day, can we work something in there?

What I’m saying is that this is good news for the business side of the Bucks organization, but relatively unexciting for fans. At least they didn’t completely botch the name, right? It could be way worse! Things are looking up, indeed.
