Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Tonight’s (on) topic:
Five ways the NBA could end the age minimum:
— SB Nation (@SBNation) August 27, 2018
1. Funnel teenagers into the G League
2. Adopt a baseball-style college rule
3. Develop an academy system
4. Hold a draft only for teenagers
5. Just get rid of ithttps://t.co/CjklqcABWP
I feel like of these five suggestions, only numbers two and five are the most realistic. The baseball rule would make the most sense as it would filter out the top end high school players from wasting their earning power at the NCAA level, while also keeping some less seasoned college players from jumping into the draft too early.
Which option do y’all think will work best, or do you have an option of your own?
Tonight’s (off) topic:

A handful of college football programs have sideline dogs that specifically retrieve the tees after kickoffs and it got me thinking if basketball could replicate this in some way. The only thing I could think of would be to retrieve the tearaway pants and the warm-up shirts as players check-in to games from the scorer’s table. But then again, there would be a lot of dog hair on clothing material that is pretty static-y to begin with.

As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
