Brew Hoop Night Shift: August 3rd, 2018

Welcome to the Brew Hoop Night Shift. Every evening at 9:00pm (central time), this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.

Tonight’s (on) topic:

The Memphis Grizzlies are the latest franchise to go with a rebrand and boy howdy did these turn out swell.

Our friends over at Grizzly Bear Blues have the complete run down of the new look. I love that the player names are underneath the numbers, I love the nod to the Vancouver Grizzlies tribal collar and fusing that with the neon light style of Beale Street, I love their new, crisp court.

My one disappointment? The Grizzlies teased the new look with promotional photos and videos that predominately showed the full, old Vancouver jerseys, teal and all, but with “Memphis” replacing the “Vancouver” in the full bear logo. As you may have noticed, the team decided to not utilize that jersey template in their rebrand...for now. I cannot imagine they would tease something so heavily and not create something for a throwback.

So, how do we feel about it all?

Tonight’s (off) topic: Skateboarding

I remembering being in elementary school at the height of X-Games hysteria and playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater on the N64, and thinking to myself, yeah I can absolutely take up skateboarding at be good at it.

So I did, and I was not.

Turns out my balance is awful and that was only exacerbated by the uneven sidewalks outside my childhood home.

Any Sk8er Bois/Girls out there?
