Milwaukee Bucks vs. Dallas Mavericks Preview: Bucks Host Mavs On MLK Day

Angling for an early afternoon win

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Orlando Magic Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

The 33-12 Milwaukee Bucks host the 20-25 Dallas Mavericks at the Fiserv Forum this afternoon...playing on MLK Day is an extremely big honor for all parties involved.

Bucks Update

It wasn’t easy, but the Milwaukee Bucks took care of the pesky Orlando Magic on Saturday night. The Bucks were led by Eric Bledsoe who poured in 30 points while Giannis Antetokounmpo added 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists of his own. Shout out to Malcolm Brogdon who added 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Milwaukee made 55.3 percent of their shots and 40 percent of their threes. Very nice! We finally get the first-ever Giannis vs. Luka Doncic matchup today; it should be a doozy.

The Milwaukee Bucks are healthy! Woohoo.

Player to Watch: Malcolm Brogdon

In his last 10 games, he’s averaging 16.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while making 57.4 percent of his shots. In what should be a fast-paced affair, I am certain he’s in for a big game. IT’S IN THE BANK as the great Ted Davis would say.

Dallas Mavericks Update

Don’t be deceived by their record, the Mavs can light it up on any given game. They are coming off a 111-99 road loss to the Indiana Pacers. Related: the Mavericks are 4-19 on the road. Oof. Harrison Barnes (remember him?) had 20 points, DeAndre Jordan added 15, and Marquette’s own Wesley Matthews chipped in 17 points. Luka Doncic was ejected and finished with 8 points on 14 shots. They will be hoping for better today against the Bucks.

J.J. Barea tore his Achilles and is out for the season #baninjuries Deandre Jordan is also listed as probable, while Dennis Smith Jr. is questionable with a *cough* illness, *cough* *cough*.

Player to Watch: Luka Doncic

He’s lit up the NBA world this season and has already proven that he’s here to stay. Averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, the sky is the limit for this kid. He is 19...I just turned 23 on Friday. I feel old.
