Happy New Year everyone! Now that the fog has cleared and the hangover dissipated, we’re left to take stock of what happened the month before. The world might be burning, but Giannis Antetokounmpo and your Milwaukee Bucks are burning the haters one Eastern Conference village at a time.
The pirate king of New York has his fill of plunder, and on his shelf is another trophy. That’s right, Giannis has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Month.

For those who weren’t keeping score, that’s his second this glorious season and they’ve only given two of the things away. He’s also taken Eastern Conference Player of the Week five out of a possible eleven times, and nobody else gets a repeat. It looks like Ryan Collins won’t be collecting his rent money from the bookie this year either.
Giannis averaged 25 points a game in December, along with 12 rebounds and 6 assists a game. These are GOAT numbers, Giannis could get more, but he’s been setting up his teammates and building the chemical structures that can withstand a grueling season in the spotlight.
For those hopeful for the Miracle in Milwaukee, Giannis did raise his percentage outside a bit...by shooting .222 from deep. Ah well, when you’re the greatest, nobody gets to tell you how it’s done.

But we will try, eh Bucks fans?
