In a back-to-back following their outing in Cleveland last night, the Milwaukee Bucks came out and took apart the Charlotte Hornets, 137-96.
With both teams on a back-to-back, this one started out a little rusty. Missed opportunities, some sluggishness, and turnovers defined the opening minutes of the first quarter. However, just as we all thought, Robin Lopez would pace the Bucks in scoring in the opening 12 minutes, tallying eight points — including two threes. After one, Milwaukee would claim a 32-25 lead.
Things would really expand in the second half, as the Bucks realized just how superior they were to the Hornets. Led by Giannis’ 15 points in the quarter, Milwaukee took their seven point lead after the first and transformed it into a 66-49 advantage moving into halftime.
From this point on, there was nothing Charlotte could do. The Bucks ballooned their lead to a whopping 26 points following the third quarter, and would gallop to a massively lopsided victory, 137-96.
Stat That Stood Out
After Brook Lopez was ruled out of tonight’s game due to back soreness, it was quickly announced that his brother Robin would fill in for him. Things ended up going pretty well:

And that’s where we get our stat that stood out. In just the first half alone, Robin Lopez would earn a career-high in 3-points made. We all know how he strived to expand upon his 3-point shooting percentage during the offseason and the impact he’s already made this season. However, this was the night we’ve seen him exhibit it the most. His final stat line would read 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists. His performance definitely warrants a tip of the cap, and should Brook be in a situation where he’s unable to go Monday night against the Knicks, Milwaukee should be in a good situation at the five spot with Robin.
