Bucks Film Room Podcast Episode 2: Nikola Mirotic and Paint Switches

How Mirotic fits with the Bucks and explaining paint switches.

NBA: Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Following up on a video examination of Nikola Mirotic’s fit with the Milwaukee Bucks, I also talk about it on the podcast with a couple of new and interesting tidbits. Most notably is how he fits with Giannis Antetokounmpo and how Mike Budenholzer has utilized them (or not utilized them) together after a whopping two games. It’s a jam-packed episode that touches on a lot of topics so here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Mirotic and his fit with the Bucks including spacing, shot profile, quick release, fit with Antetokounmpo and his defensive effort.
  • A new (to the Bucks) defensive technique called paint switch Milwaukee has been running. Warning: It’s only been a few games so it likely means nothing at this point. I just wanted to point it out.
  • I answer your questions about “big name” free agents, hierarchy of pending Bucks’ free agents, James Harden over Antetokounmpo for MVP, Isaiah Canaan and his 10-day contract and more!

I want to answer your questions every week, or at least as many as I can get to. Please leave your questions in the comments below and I’ll make sure to check back to jot them down and answer them on next week’s podcast. Reminder: Bucks Film Room podcast will be dropping every Thursday, but it came out on Wednesday this week due to the late West Coast game at 9pm central time. I’m not about that life.
