On the afternoon of Marques Johnson’s well-deserved jersey retirement, the Milwaukee Bucks picked up victory number 55 with a win over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Milwaukee Bucks were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo who dropped an easy 26 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. He was attacking the Cavs from the opening tip, converting on numerous slam dunks in the first quarter. Brook Lopez was splashing three-pointers early and ended up chipping in 14 points. Point guard George Hill provided a big boost for Milwaukee off the bench with 17 points (7-of-8 FG).
Kevin Love led the Cavaliers with 20 points and 19 rebounds. It was not a good shooting performance for the Cavs, who shot 42.7% from the field, and 26.8% from deep.
Stat That Stood Out: 56
The Milwaukee Bucks scored 56 points in the paint versus the Cavs today. They simply had no answer for Giannis and company down low, as the Bucks were seemingly able to get whatever look they wanted near the rim.
