The Brew Hoop Podcast Episode 22: A Quieter Week, a Quicker Bucks Breakdown

The gang breaks down a mostly Giannis-less week

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Milwaukee Bucks Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Editor’s Note: Note: This was recorded prior to the Cavaliers game, so we don’t touch on Marques Johnson’s touching retirement ceremony, nor the Bonzie Colsonnaisance that occurred in the game’s waning moments.

The whole crew gets together this week to discuss a slate of games that, for hte most part, didn’t feature Giannis Antetokoumpo’s blistering game. Instead, we chat about how Khris Middleton had some chance to shine in his absence. Then, we go on a brief diversion discussing how Eric Bledsoe rarely seems to make his presence feel palpable in a game, yet can still find his way to decent box score nights. Finally, we peek at the Miami Heat game and Milwaukee’s ruthless efficiency against a top-ten defense in the league.

Afterwards, we ponder who might get the biggest benefit from Nikola Mirotic’s injury. Could it go to the guards, George Hill and Sterling Brown, who recently returned from their own ailments, or D.J. Wilson, who’s finally found regular rotation minutes but struggled from the field of late. Then, we dive into how the Bucks should handle Giannis’ titanic ankles down the stretch. Is he due for some more games off, or should the push to ensure they get the increasingly ever likely number one seed. We finish it off with a look at the week ahead, including a preview of the MVP battle between Giannis and James Harden.

As always, anyone who listens to us babble on is number one in our books. Thanks for tuning in, week after week.
