In a game that featured the MVP vs. James Harden, the Bucks would prevail and defend Fiserv Forum in a big victory, 108-94.
It’d take longer than usual for the Bucks to kick into high gear in this one, as they couldn’t get much to fall. Thankfully, the Rockets weren’t able to capitalize as much as they could’ve. Going into the second quarter, Milwaukee found themselves down 25-20.
The intensity would really come alive in the second quarter, with the Bucks launching themselves back into the lead. Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton really found their games and it showed by the number of times the crowd came to its feet. At halftime, the Bucks held onto a 58-53 lead.
And then, the Eric Bledsoe quarter happened. Folks, he turned it on. It really proved to be the deciding factor in this one and from there, the Bucks wouldn’t look back. A big win for the hometown team.
Coming in, the hype was all about Harden vs. Giannis. Afterward, it was all about Bledsoe. He’d complete his night with a 23 point performance on 9-of-19 shooting, of which included a 4-of-7 clip from downtown. Giannis Antetokounmpo concluded his night with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
James Harden would have a measly 23 points on 9-of-26 shooting. He’d go 1-of-9 from deep.
Stat That Stood Out
We’re rolling with Eric Bledsoe here. What an electrifying performance. There are a lot of other viable routes I could take here, but I can’t deny the Bledshow. That third quarter was en fuego. In the first eight minutes of the third quarter, he racked up 16 points. It’d really be the catalyst to that’d push Milwaukee into the next level. In the end, his stat line would tally 23 points. You can point to so many instances tonight where his hustle ignited the team and the crowd. It really is special having a player that can bring that sort of intensity at the flip of a switch. We’ve now seen a couple of games with Bledsoe in the headband and after this one, he deserves a nickname/hashtag. Leave your suggestions in the comments
