NBA Playoff Game Thread: April 25-26, 2019

One elimination game per night makes for some darn fine television

NBA: Playoffs-Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks to suggestions from you, our loyal readers, we make sure to give the people what they want! Without further ado, the official Brew Hoop Playoff thread is here. On the Bucks off-nights, we’ll create a spot to stir the discussion stew surrounding how other teams are faring in their own fight for a title.

Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs (DEN leads 3-2)

Date: April 25, 2019

Time: 7:00 PM (TNT)

The stakes: After Derrick White’s supernova performance, it seems like the Nuggets have doused the San Antonio Spurs in a bucket of cold water. Or more appropriately, they may have just jumped into the volcano themselves. Their offense has found additional juice while the Spurs are beginning to sputter. There is some limit to San Antonio’s ceiling if their stellar 3-point shooting won’t fall given their low volume from behind the arc. Can Pop stave off elimination at home? Or will the upstart Nuggets prove their regular season was no fluke.

LA Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors (GSW 3-2)

Date: April 26, 2019

Time: 9:00 pm (TNT)

The stakes: Improbably, this plucky Los Angeles Clippers team is hanging with the behemoth Golden State Warriors. They’re fresh off a second upset in the confines of Oracle Arena, with a chance to try and extend the series to seven with a home win. Based on the mix of personalities, I’m almost not surprised the Clippers seem to get so freakin’ hype to go on the Warriors home court and stomp them. They’ll need that energy on Friday to win, and some cold shooting from Durant’s dancing partners as well.
