It’s not often this season that we’ve had to gather together and lament the fact the Milwaukee Bucks were soundly beaten. By and large, this fairy tale season has had happy ending after happy ending. That yellow brick road ran directly into a green-tinted storm of destruction when the Boston Celtics absolutely shredded Milwaukee on both ends of the court Sunday.
In today’s episode, Riley, Kyle and I gather to try and diagnose the myriad issues the Celtics caused for Milwaukee. We run through what seems like it could be concerning going forward as well as the adjustments we’d like to see. From Giannis getting stymied by Celtics defenders, to Eric Bledsoe’s passiveness and Bud’s willingness to lean on what’s worked before rather than fighting to find something from the present, there was plenty to learn from in the tear down. Whether those lessons will teach the Bucks anything, well, that’s what game two is for.
In the meantime, definitely check out Brian’s fabulous piece breaking down the Bucks’ coverage of staggered screens, plus Mitchell’s column on why we need to keep the faith.
As always, your listenership is very much appreciated.
