NBA Playoff Game Thread: May 10-12

We’re nearing the end of the Conference Semi-finals

NBA: Playoffs-Houston Rockets at Golden State Warriors Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks to suggestions from you, our loyal readers, we make sure to give the people what they want! Without further ado, the official Brew Hoop Playoff thread is here. On the Bucks off-nights, we’ll create a spot to stir the discussion stew surrounding how other teams are faring in their own fight for a title. Apologies for the delay between posts, but feel free to use this one all the way through the weekend.

Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets (GSW leads 3-2)

Date: Friday, May 10

Time: 8:00 pm (ESPN)

The stakes: With Kevin Durant out for the remainder of this series, the entire tenor changes. The Warriors have to revert to their pre-unconquerable juggernaut status when they were merely a typical juggernaut. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson pulled out game five, but will have to win in Houston to close it out. There’s a lot on the line for James Harden and Chris Paul’s legacies here.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Denver Nuggets (Series tied 3-3)

Date: Sunday, May 12

Time: TBD

The stakes: Likely the early game on this slate, the Portland Trail Blazers forced a game seven on the back of Damian Lillard, who has been relatively quiet in this series. They’ll need him to take on a massive load if they hope to come up clutch in game seven, on the road. Nikola Jokic is gonna whip that Denver crowd into a frenzy.

Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors Game 7 (If needed)

Date: Sunday, May 12

Time: 2:30 pm (ABC)

The stakes: Please Houston, please win Game 6 so we can have this tripleheader of Game Sevens...

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors (Series tied 3-3)

Date: Sunday, May 12

Time: 6:00 pm (TNT)

The stakes: Ben Simmons finally emerged from his cocoon and took over game six for Philadelphia, forcing a winner-take-all final matchup north of the border. Kawhi Leonard has been unstoppable, and been in moments bigger than this one before. Will that experience give him the edge over a hot-and-cold Sixers squad? I can’t wait to find out and see who the Bucks will be taking on in the Conference Finals.
