Rapid Recap: Bucks 128, Knicks 102

What an exciting game!

NBA: New York Knicks at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

This one went exactly as one might think, as the Bucks trounced the Knicks, 128-102.

As you’d expect, Milwaukee had no trouble in establishing an early lead. Their lead would balloon to as large as 14, but the Knicks would cut things back to single digits before the quarter ended. Transitioning into the second quarter, Milwaukee groomed a 29-23 advantage.

It became clearly evident that the Knicks were no match for the Bucks all the way through the second quarter. They’d be able to find any answer, and Milwaukee broke open a 20+ lead without much of an effort thanks to the contributions of Eric Bledsoe and Giannis Antetokounmpo. At halftime, the Bucks led 65-40.

From that point on, it was done and dusted. No need to go into any more summary of this one. I mean, this is the Knicks after all.

Stat That Stood Out

I’m going to go with Dragan Bender here. He didn’t have a flashy stat line, but nonetheless, he racked up 21 minutes on the evening, including some in the first quarter. However, it was especially interesting after this quote from Budenholzer pre-game:

What does this mean for DJ Wilson? It’ll surely be interesting to watch, especially as we rapidly approach the trade deadline. He’d end up getting minutes later in the game, but it’s become very evident he’s the odd man out on this Bucks team. At this point, I’d be quite surprised if he’s a member of this team post trade deadline.
