After much teasing, trolling, and water shots for dayzzz, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally thrown us all a life vest by revealing their city edition jerseys. They are blue.

The Milwaukee franchise is no stranger to drawn-out jersey reveals. I, for one, got got by the ludicrous faux-fool-reveal of the orange jerseys back in the day. This rollout featured endless shots of the wonderful waters of Lake Michigan. They’ve got the usual host of in-depth marketing jargon that brings meaning to each and every detail on these jerseys available on their website if you’re interested.

It’s inspired by the meaning of Milwaukee, which is “Gathering place by the water.” This piece from the website is a little bizarre though:

The numbers on the jersey are treated with a special coating that will reflect the light in a way that gives the illusion that the numbers themselves are wet.

Color me interested in figuring out how exactly that works in practice, but at least it might give new meaning to a dude’s jumper looking “wet.” Overall, I’m not too worked up over these jerseys. I like the blue, I think it’s cool they’re incorporating it after wanting something for a few years that featured that specific palette. The two primary blues feel like decent complements and it’s not as immediately jarring as something like the Mecca jersey — although that one grew on me.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the shorts with the whole black and blue combo...but I like whenever the state logo gets a little chance to shine. Overall, I’d give it a C+. What about you? Let us know in the comments below what you think of these fresh additions to the Bucks jersey roster for this year.
