Every evening at 8:00 pm central, or whenever we feel like it, this all-purpose thread goes up and the comments section is where it’s going down. What Bucks news did we not cover? What topics do you want to break down further? Or is there something non-Bucks that you want to bounce off of one another? Even something non-basketball? This is the place.
Happy New Year, everyone.
2020 might feel like it was a year to forget, and for good reason. Even if you ignore the story of the world around us (and that story is still being written), the Milwaukee Bucks’ story was upended and pushed off track in ways that nobody could have predicted. We’ll never know what could have happened if the league hadn’t been forced into an elongated shutdown, but what we do know is how the team responded to the adversity they faced.
In a way, we can apply that lesson to ourselves. How did we respond? With so much that happened that was outside of our control, what did we do that was within our control? With the calendar turning over, so too comes an opportunity to turn over a new leaf. They call them New Year’s Resolutions for a reason, right? So what do we resolve to do in 2021, to make right what went wrong in 2020? That’s what we expect from our basketball team, and I hope that we can expect it from ourselves. Perhaps we won’t be successful (I hope we are), but the effort that goes into the attempt is the real resolution.
Stay safe out there, everyone, and here’s to a change of fortune for the better in 2021.
As a general rule, non-basketball topics are permitted in an open thread, provided that they follow the SB Nation Community Guidelines.
