Prior to the season, NBA fans were polled on a variety of topics, with one being how they matched up against their NBA Finals opponent, the Phoenix Suns. The Bucks were shown some love in that poll. Here’s a look at the SB Nation Reacts Poll question:

Looking at the rosters, there was minimum turnover. Sure, the Bucks lost PJ Tucker, who was a piece to the puzzle in the playoffs and was in Milwaukee’s starting lineup throughout the entirety of the postseason ride. However, they were able to retain Bobby Portis and bring in players such as Grayson Allen and George Hill.
Phoenix also saw minimal changes to their roster. They were able to bring Chris Paul back on a massive four-year, $120 million deal. They were also able to retain Cameron Payne. In recent days, there has been discussion about how talks are stalling with big man Deandre Ayton. However, the Suns should still be a contending team.
Last year in the Finals, the Bucks won because they were the more talented basketball team, and I believe that’s still the case this season. Both fans (from the poll above) and odds taken from Draft Kings favor the Bucks to win the championship over Phoenix:
- Brooklyn Nets: +200
- Los Angeles Lakers: +400
- Milwaukee Bucks: +900
- Golden State Warriors: +1100
- Utah Jazz: +1500
- Phoenix Suns: +1700
- Los Angeles Clippers: +1700
