NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks closed out their six-game road trip with a 101-116 loss against the Dallas Mavericks, moving to 3-3 overall on the trek as they prepare for a return home against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday .

NBA.com Box Score

Milwaukee opened the game with a serviceable offensive first period, although some late period fouls helped the Mavericks creep within 29-31 after one. By half, the Bucks clung once more to a narrow advantage, leading 56-55 at half. The Bucks looked poised to go into the fourth down, but instead, an all-bench lineup led a scoring spree to put Milwaukee up 84-80 for the final period. Milwaukee couldn’t buy a basket in the fourth period, with their stars clanking almost everything in sight. It was an ugly finish where the final score looks worse than it really was due to a 17-36 fourth quarter with the Bucks on the wrong side of it.

Stat That Stood Out

6-27 overall for Khris Middleton. The Bucks star has been in a bit of a slump, but this was certainly the shooting nadir of his season, and maybe his career given the volume of shots? Runners clanked. Jump shots rattled out. Layups were blocked. It was a horrific night for a player who needed to step up in a massive way. He needs to recapture his early season rhythm before the postseason if the Bucks have any hope of making it out of the East.
