Rapid Recap: Hornets 127, Bucks 119

Typical starter-less Bucks fall to Charlotte

NBA: Charlotte Hornets at Milwaukee Bucks Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

In a game that did not feature any of the Bucks’ typical starters, the Charlotte Hornets walked away with a 127-119 victory.

It was another odd night of basketball, with the Bucks’ entire starting five out of this one. Charlotte would utilize a 9-0 run to get out to an early lead (and a lead they’d hold the rest of the quarter). Going into the second period, the visitors held a 32-27 lead.

The Hornets would add onto that lead in the second quarter, thanks in large part to some scoring spurts. While the Bucks were able to trim it to single digits numerous times, the Hornets groomed a 66-55 advantage at intermission.

Charlotte would continue to pour it on throughout the third quarter, as the Bucks were unable to mount any momentum. Moving into the fourth, the visitors were up by 19 points, 100-81.

Milwaukee wouldn’t put much of a dent in this one from that point on. Charlotte would end up easily cruising to a 127-119 victory.

Stat That Stood Out

Jeff Teague earned the start tonight and he produced. He’d finish with 19 points. Over the last few games, he’s shown that he still has some energy left in the tank. One thing that really stood out was his pump fakes. As the Bucks get ready for the playoffs, it’ll be intriguing to see how he continues to mold with his teammates, as there’s a strong chance they’ll be relying on minutes from him come the postseason.
