Every Monday at 5:00 PM Central this all-purpose thread goes up, and the comments section is where it’s going down. This is your place to discuss all the NBA’s action happening during the week when the Bucks are off-duty.
Happy Memorial Day everyone, whether you’re in the States or elsewhere. Let’s get to the basketball.
As of this piece’s publication, the Bucks are the only team who have finished their series, though the Sixers are on the verge of completing their own sweep of the Washington Wizards. It’s been something of a bunch of grudge matches out West, though, with the Jazz having had a game taken off them by the Grizzlies and with Lakers-Suns, Mavericks-Clippers, and Blazers-Nuggets all locked in at 2-2 marks.
For us, everything this week ties into that still ongoing (but nearly finished) Celtics-Nets series. With Brooklyn up 3-1 and the series heading back to New York City tomorrow, it could be that we’ll have confirmation of our next round opponent and a clearer idea of when the clash of the East titans will kick off. If the Celtics are able to snag another game (a big if, I’m aware), Milwaukee gets to chill out even longer while the Nets have to slog back to Boston.
All that while the Bucks get to hang out just like us, taking it in and snickering at the trials and tribulations of teams who are knee-deep in the mud. Enjoy the utter lack of stakes, everyone! It isn’t often you get that in playoff basketball.
