NBA Draft 2021: Milwaukee Bucks Select Georgios Kalaitzakis at 60

The Bucks close out the draft for the second consecutive year

Syndication: Milwaukee Mike De Sisti, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

For the second consecutive year, Jon Horst and the Milwaukee Bucks closed out the NBA Draft. At pick number 60, they opted for Georgios Kalaitzakis, a fellow countryman of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s.

Last year, Horst went for an aged shooter in Sam Merrill at this slot. This year, he went with a little known Greek player. If I didn’t know their 54th pick, I definitely don’t know this dude.

At 22 years old, he averaged just a meager 4.4 minutes per game in his latest Euroleague campaign. He stands 6’7” and is repped by Alex Saratsis, the same agent as Giannis obviously. There is so little data available it’s hard to even discern what types of skills he could bring to Milwaukee. My guess is he would be a prime draft and stash candidate to avoid extra tax dollars but we will see. Horst and company now turn their sights to the far more integral part of the offseason: free agency.

Not the greek we were expecting, but the Bucks are still NBA Champions though.
