Deer Diaries, Ep. 159: Giannis Extends, Stotts Departs, and New Beginnings

A momentous occasion for the rebranded podcast’s first episode

We wanted to wait until preseason was over to record our first episode of Deer Diaries (A Milwaukee Bucks Podcast) since the rebrand, and my colleague Kyle Carr must’ve had a premonition when he asked us to wait one more day to record. Thanks to his apt reading of the vibes, we were able to talk a bit about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s three-year, $186 million dollar extension on the latest recording.

But that’s not all! We also ran the gamut from Terry Stotts’s departure to AJ Green’s ascension to our first gut-check preferred eight man playoff rotations. How much pressure does Giannis’s extension take off the organization and, importantly, head coach Adrian Griffin? Any cause for concern about the initial growing pains between Damian Lillard and Giannis on the offensive end of the floor (if you can even call them that)? Is GM Jon Horst actually the executive people think Pat Riley is?

We cover that, and more! Rapid Fire questions are back, I’ve got my first fountain pen ink review in a long time, Kyle reviews “The Menu”, and Adam Paris wonders what the hell he got himself into (again).

Please comment below any feedback on the episode! Have a thought you want to share with the listening public or heard a host say something that was completely off-base and want to correct the record? Contribute below and you’re likely to make the cut to feature on the next episode’s “Buck the Hosts” segment.
