On the morning of August 12th, it is expected that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker will put his signature on the arena funding deal, passing it along to the final stages.
According to Rich Kirchen of the Milwaukee Business Journal by way of WISN's Mike Gousha, the Bucks may be ready to unveil the design plan for the new downtown by the end of August. Bucks President Peter Feigin was recently on Gousha's show "Up Front with Mike Gousha" and did not provide any details, but Bucks spokesman Jake Suski said more details would be shared in the coming weeks, according to Kirchen.
Back in April, the Bucks unveiled preliminary renderings of the arena and entertainment plaza as well as additional ancillary development including a new practice facility and commercial and residential properties. The proposed ancillary development would be built in various phases over the next decade and privately financed at a cost of roughly $500 million.
The Bucks hope to get a shovel in the ground for the new arena by October or November, so an end-of-August release for a design seems right on schedule.
